Privacy policy

DeepFocus is built so that what you read and what you work on stay on your computer. This page lists everything that does leave it, and why.

Stays on your device

• Pages you visit. Sonar reads a page's address, title and text to decide whether it fits your session. It runs on your computer using Chrome's built-in AI; page content is never sent to us or anyone else.
• Session goals, verdicts, history and stats. Stored in your browser only.

Your account

• You sign in with Google. We receive your email address to confirm who you are; we do not store it. Your account is identified by a one-way hash of the address.
• We store, against that hash: your trial start and expiration dates, trial type and promotion ID, referral code and rewards, Premium purchases, today's focus minutes (deleted after three days), and a short record that a referral session started and ended (no goal or content).
• Settings. So your preferences follow you to another browser, your DeepFocus settings — including your allow and block lists and your "things I shouldn't be doing" sentence — are stored against the hash, and Chrome Sync may also copy them between your own Chrome profiles.
• If the owner gives an account free Premium by hand, that email address is stored in the clear so the owner can see the list.
• Sign-in attempts are rate-limited by IP address; those counters are deleted within twenty minutes.

Payments

Premium is sold through Stripe. Stripe collects your payment details and email under Stripe's privacy policy; we never see your card. We keep the Stripe checkout, payment and customer IDs needed to confirm and restore your purchase.

What we don't do

• No advertising, no analytics, no tracking pixels.
• We don't sell, rent or share your data with anyone except Stripe (payments) and Google (sign-in).
• We don't upload your browsing history.

Your choices

• Uninstalling the extension removes everything stored in your browser.
• To delete your account data from our server, email NaythanKallungal@gmail.com from the address you signed in with.

Children

DeepFocus is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date above changes with it.
